4 days left

I only have four days left before I run my half-marathon. The last few weeks of training didn't go as well as I had hoped, so I am going to be one sore lady at the end of this thing. 13.1 miles and I'll probably be crawling across the finish line. Hopefully I'll survive it and be back see you all on Monday!

I've been MIA for a long time on here. Crazy busy between all the stuff I recently volunteered for, golf tournament, kids schools, and the normal day to day stuff (they keep expecting me to feed them and wash their clothes). Finally feel like I'm getting caught up, and after this weekend things should start settling down. I'm stoked about a new group blog Randi Alexander and I started. Busy week

I have a crazy busy schedule this week, five guests coming to stay at my house and the first start arriving tomorrow, a ton of golf tournament administrative work that has to get done in the next couple days, the golf tournament to attend on Friday, and I'm speaking at my writers group on Saturday. These things, plus all the normal cooking and cleaning and laundry required when you are mom, and then trying to squeeze writing into it all and maybe even a run or two (that half-marathon is coming up soon). I'm a little stressed out about getting everything done, but not bad...yet. I probably won't be online much, but I'll be back on Monday and let you all know that I survived.

My random thoughst on BDSM

BDSM is the hot item right now and I have two books I've started where the plot leads perfectly to a Dom hero and a heroine who resists it and finds true happiness when she finally gives in, but I am having trouble getting into it. I have a lack of knowledge on the subject and am torn about the whole core of BDSM. I have been doing a ton of research on the subject, and premise behind what a Dom is, how he should treat his sub is very romantic and sexy.  It still bothers me  a little though to think of one person fully controlling another, but I can also see the sexiness in parts of it. I can see how freeing it could be to give up control in the bedroom to someone and have the only focus be on feeling the pleasure. I can see how giving control to someone else would give a depth and trust to the relationship that isn't often achieved, and I can see how the person giving up control is really the one in control. No one is ever really in control of someone else, that has to be given.  So there are my random BDSM thoughts. What are yours? Do you find it sexy? Are you curious about it? Do you dabble in it? Is it an integral part of your life?

Fashionably late blogging about 50 shades

First a disclaimer, I have not read the book 50 Shades of Grey. I've read reviews, articles, listened to the hype and am still excited about it all. It seems like there have been several break out authors that have been criticized lately for bad writing, poor editing, poor character development, and a lot of other problems that haven't stopped them from becoming a best seller.


I wonder if it is mostly other authors, jealous of the popularity, of the money this author is making. I hope not, hope most authors are bigger than that, that they aren't ripping on someones success out of jealousy. The process of writing and publishing is difficult enough without punishing each other. We need to be in this together, supporting each other and celebrating successes. This one I think is particularly great, bringing erotic romance to the mainstream crowd means more readers and more sales for all of us. I'm glad 50 Shades is getting all the attention that it is.

Need help with a book title

I'm stuck trying to think of a name for the book I just started working on. I want the name to be two words to go along with the rest of the series and something sexy. Here's a rough blurb of what the story's about.

Blake and Crystal are working together to catch the men involved in a major drug running ring. Blake knows better than getting involved with the woman drug mule helping him to bring down the drug running ring, but she’s so sexy, and tempting. Crystal is working toward a degree, a better life than the one she grew up in, and not willing to make the same mistakes of letting men control her like her mother did, but when Blake want’s to tie her up and dominate her in the bedroom, and it feels too damn good to say no even when every ounce of common sense she possesses tells her to run.

Give me your suggestions for book titles.  Nothing is too crazy, let me know what pops into your head even if it's not a two word title.
